Equipment Used During My Photography Sessions

If youโ€™ve ever wondered what equipment is used by professional photographers to achieve those gorgeous photos, Iโ€™m happy to share what I use in my studio so youโ€™re more in the know!

Cameras

Of course, the most obvious piece of equipment used is the cameras. Iโ€™m a Nikon girl, and I use two Nikon D750s with various lenses to achieve different looks. My trusty 24-70 zoom lens is by far my favourite as itโ€™s so versatile. It allows me to take photos in a smaller space and to zoom in on some details if needed. My prime 105 lens, though, is the superstar of macro shots, capturing the little things in great detail such as baby lips, hands and tiny toes!

Lighting

Any photographer will tell you that lighting is the single most important aspect to know in order to get the photos perfect. Brightness, direction, shadows and fill light are all important factors in achieving the look you want. My main source of light is the Manfrotto Hilite, placed to the left of all my subjects. This is an absolutely superb piece of kit, allowing plenty of light to fill the space. I also use it for silhouette photos, one of my favourite types of photos to capture!

To provide the light, I use Godox V1 flashes which work superbly with my Godox X2T Trigger on my camera. I can adjust the lighting levels quickly and easily so youโ€™re not kept waiting while I get it just right!
